Corrective feedback: what, why, and how
Welcome to the open-access online knowledge hub for language practitioners.
Corrective feedback (CF) is the process through which teachers, proficient target language speakers, or peers, suggest the adjustment of a second language learner’s linguistic output. Regardless of the type or mode in which CF is provided, the intention is the same - to help learners develop their ability in the second language.
Corrective feedback is generally considered to be a critical component to great language teaching, not only because it is important for teachers to help guide students in producing the correct target language forms, but also because students tend to expect their teachers to do just that - correct them!
This knowledge hub aims to highlight the most recent research in corrective feedback from some of the most influential scholars in the field as well as to share a plethora of resources on the topic for language practitioners to consider in their practice.
